Spanish Courses in el Puerto de Santa María

In the next future (2007) we will represent our new partner Spanish school in Puerto de Santa María, in Cadiz (Andalucía).

El Puerto de Santa María is a picturesque and lively Spanish city situated in the province of Cadiz in the south west of Andalusia, 20 minutes across the bay from Cádiz. There are 22 kms. of Atlantic coastline around the city, with 15 Km of beaches of fine golden sand. The province of Cadiz is part of the coastline known as Costa de la Luz because of the unusually clear and intense quality of the light, 3100 hours per year.
El Puerto de Santa María is located in the centre of the Bay of Cádiz and lies at the mouth of the Guadalete River. El Puerto de Santa Maria enjoys a very pleasant microclimate. The average Summer temperature is around 25-28 degrees with almost constant sunshine from May till October. Spring and Autumn are mild and warm, and even in Winter the daytime temperature rarely falls below 15 C.

Spanish School in Puerto de Santa María:

The school is located in the commercial heart of the city, 2 minutes from the famous bullring. The school is a 10 minutes walk from the old historical centre of the city, a place full of tapas bars, dance clubs and Spanish people from every corner of Spain , especially during the summer months.
Our Spanish school in el Puerto de Santa María offers to its students 9 classrooms, library with free internet/email service and a kitchen, all with air-conditioning for summer and heating for winter. Also there are videos, tape recorders, extra material and games in the classes .
Our Spanish school in el Puerto de Santa María normally takes its students on at least 6 – 8 excursions/activities during a months stay. These excursions/activities are free.
Also students can buy tickets in the language school for the main shows, concerts, theatre and cultural events in El Puerto de Santa Maria, Cadiz and other cities.
Our Spanish language school in Puerto de Santa María is an accredited Instituto Cervantes language school and it also has the CEELE title. This is the maximum guarantee a school can offer its students. Our offer includes General Spanish courses, Intensive Spanish courses, Super Intensive Spanish courses and we also prepare our students for the Instituto Cervantes DELE exams. There are Spanish language groups at all levels during all the year. Beside from the Spanish courses we also offer our students the possibility to learn Flamenco in a professional dance school, also Sevillanas and Salsa. There are also courses of Spanish Guitar.

Accommodation in Puerto de Santa María:

We can offer students a wide range of accommodation. Most people prefer to stay with one of our carefully selected families, where they can practise their Spanish in authentic everyday situations. Some may prefer to stay in a hostel near the school or in a hotel or yet again in a self contained apartment. Camping and pension (rooms) are also available, the choice is yours, just tell us and we will organise it for you.

All host families are carefully vetted and inspected by the Erasmus Language School before any placement is considered. Accommodation is normally in single rooms with normal facilities – bed, wardrobe, study area, dresser. In a small number of families the study area may not be in the bedroom. No other foreign student of the same nationality will be placed by Erasmus Language School in the same family (unless requested to do so).
Host family accommodation is half board – breakfast and another meal- or full board breakfast, lunch and dinner. It also includes normal facilities – shower/bath, laundry (normal family laundry), access to common living areas, etc.
Erasmus Language School also offers to students many other kinds of accommodation as apartments, hotel, hostel, pension or camping.

Activities in Puerto de Santa María:

For those who would go on excursions or other cultural activities, these are also arranged by a local travel agent, but the cost of these are not included in the price of the program. Trinity School normally takes its students on at least 6-8 excursions/activities during a months stay. These excursions are free.
Cultural
The city has a number of museums and historic buildings.

• Saint Marcos Castle, built on the site of a mosque, dates back to the 13th century.

• Sep 8 : Festival of the patron saint, “Virgen de los Milagros”, during the wine harvest period
