Spanish Courses in Nerja

In the near future (2007) we will represent our new partner Spanish school in Nerja, in the south of Spain.

Nerja City:
Nerja is quiet, cosmopolitan town in the south of Spain that has retained a strong Andalusian character. Its appearance and climate make Nerja one of the most attractive spots on the Costa del Sol, just an 45 minutes east of Málaga International Airport. With a population of around 20,000, it is known worldwide for its open welcome to visitors.
Nerja has 16 Km (10 miles) of coastline and over 3,500 hours of sunshine annually, with temperatures of less than 30º Celsius (85ºF) in summer, and more than 15º Celsius (60ªF) winter. The area has a varied social life, including fiestas, exhibitions, sport, concerts and theatre.
Nearby, the Caves of Nerja attract thousands of visitors each year. These spectacular caverns, more than 30,000 years old, have given up remains of many Mediterranean cultures, and are a must for every visitor to the area.

Spanish School in Nerja:
Our Spanish language school in Nerja was established in 1999, and is Accredited Centre by the Instituto Cervantes. This Spanish school is member of the most important language teaching associations in Spain and Europe, including AEEA, FEDELE and ELITE, and are also recognized by CSN Sweden and Bildungsurlaub.
The school is centrally located only 300 m from the beach. Our Spanish language school quiet surrounding make it an excellent place to study. Set in an original Andalusian house where you can enjoy classes and make friends while sipping a coffee from our cafeteria during the break. Our Spanish language school bright and fully-equipped classrooms provide a tranquil atmosphere in which to learn. The Spanish school has air-conditioned rooms during the summer months, and heated ones for the winter. We have 6 spacious classrooms that are fully equipped with teaching and audio-visual aids such as TV, video, DVD and audiocassettes. There are also video and digital cameras and a slide-projector. The rooms also have the benefit of natural light.
Make use of our Spanish language school video room, study room, bookshop and library to practice your Spanish and build upon subjects taught in class.  Keep in touch with friends and family by using our internet, fax and telephone facilities.
All our Spanish teachers are Philologists, qualified to teach Spanish as a foreign language. They are constantly preparing and updating teaching methods and materials, so that you maximize your learning.

Activities:
Our extra-curricular programme is the perfect complement to the Spanish courses. Accompanied by someone from our Spanish school in Nerja, activities give students the chance to practice the new language skills in real life situations.
The Spanish language school in Nerja offers the following activities throughout the year:

• Full-day excursions to Seville, Granada, Córdoba, Málaga and more.
• Half-day excursions to the Nerja Caves, boat trips.
• Social activities include welcome drinks for students, Spanish cooking classes, Sevillanas, Spanish films, karaoke nights and others.
• Sports activities include volleyball, basketball, tennis, and golf.

If students have more energy left after all these activities, our Spanish school in Nerja offers the possibility of travel throughout Andalusia and to other Spanish areas.
There is also plenty of free time to enjoy the many attractions offered by the surroundings of Nerja. Detailed information will be given upon arrival.
All Spanish films, lectures, parties offered are free. Some activities and all excursions carry an extra fee, as listed in the activities board.

Accommodation in Nerja:
Our Spanish school in Nerja offers several choices of accommodation for students visiting Nerja, with a choice of living with a local family in their house, in a shared or private apartment, or in a hotel or hostel. All houses and apartments are less than ten minutes walking distance to the schools and the beach.
Living with a Spanish family:Live with a family as a part of it. Talking with family members, students learn Spanish about the customs of Spain, as well as practise the Spanish language. We believe that the benefits of immersion in a selected family are important for learning in depth about the country, its culture, its people, and also allows students to practice the language in its most natural form. These families are carefully chosen and monitored through regular inspections and feedback of students. Each family may have students of different nationalities. Families offer 3 services:

• Bed and Breakfast
• Half Board (bed, breakfast and lunch)
• Full Board (bed, breakfast, lunch and dinner)

Sharing an apartment: Our Spanish school in Nerja offers a self-catering Student Residence, right above the school, as well as other apartments to share. All apartments are fully equipped; all the students have a private bedroom; shared living areas with television, kitchen, bathroom and terrace or swimming poll for relaxation; once a week rooms are cleaned and sheets and towels changed.
Staying in a private apartment: For those who want more privacy, we offer apartments for 1 or 2 people. All apartments are fully equipped with television, kitchen, bathroom and terrace or swimming poll for relaxation; once a week rooms are cleaned and sheets and towels changed.
Staying in a hotel: Nerja has a wide variety of hotels and hostels in a range of categories. All budgets and special requirements can be accommodated here. We advise clients to make reservations through us at least one month in advance, during the vacation season. Please ask us for more information.

Spanish Courses in Nerja:

Intensive Course:
To practise the language used in a daily life through a structured “step by step” programme.

• Timetable: 9:30 to 13:30 from Monday to Friday (varies during the summer season)
• Duration: From 1 to 24 weeks
• Lessons per week: 20 lessons per week
• Levels: All levels from beginners to proficiency.
• Nª Students: From 4 to maximum 8 students.
• Start Dates: Students are able to start every Monday all year round.

Super Intensive Course:
To achieve maximum linguistic progress and broader perspective of Spanish Culture in a short time.

• Timetable: 9:30 to 13:30, 15:30 to 19:30 from Monday to Friday (varies during the summer season)
• Duration: From 1 to 24 weeks
• Lessons per week: 30 lessons per week
• Levels: All levels from beginners to proficiency.
• Nª Students: From 4 to maximum 8 students.
• Start Dates: Students are able to start every Monday all year round.

Individual Course:
For those who need specialized knowledge in certain aspect of the language, or that want to shape their own learning experience. Students can select the area of language to study with the help of the teacher.

• Timetable: 9:30 to 13:30, 15:30 to 19:30 from Monday to Friday
• Duration: Student chooses the number of hours that suit him/her.
• Lessons per week: Student chooses the number of hours that suit him/her.
• Levels: All levels from beginners to proficiency.
• Nª Students: 2 maximum
• Start Dates: Students are able to start every Monday all year round.

DELE Course:
To prepare for examinations DELE in the shortest possible time through a structured programme. Our Spanish Centre will enrol those students who are taking part in courses and the DELE exam. Student’s enrolment should be done at least 8 weeks in advanced.

• Timetable: 9:30 to 13:30, 15:30 to 19:30 from Monday to Friday
• Duration: From 1 to 24 weeks
• Lessons per week: 20 lessons per week Intensive Course + 5 Individual lessons
• Levels: All levels from beginners to proficiency.
• Nª Students: From 4 to maximum 8 students.
• Start Dates: Students are able to start every Monday all year round.

50 Plus Course:
Course designed for people with free time who want to learn and enjoy our language and culture without stress and pressure.

• Timetable: 9:30 to 13:30 from Monday to Friday
• Duration: From 1 to 4 weeks throughout the year.
• Lessons per week: 15 hours per week plus Social Programme of which 5 hours of Spanish Grammar and Vocabulary in individual lessons + 10 hours of Conversation based on Spanish Culture, group classes. Social activities included
• Levels: All levels from beginners to proficiency.
• Nª Students: From 4 to maximum 8 students.
• Start Dates: Students are able to start every Monday all year round.
